Emotional intelligence is hidden in the lines written by Yunus Emre many years ago; “Knowledge is to know knowledge, knowledge is to know yourself, you don’t know yourself, how many readings is it?” A little bit in Mevlana’s quote “Either appear as you are, or be what you appear to be!”… Emotional intelligence is simply defined as the ability to know oneself, to recognize other people’s emotions, to distinguish their emotions from each other and to use all this information correctly in the formation of thoughts and behaviors. Learning how to solve equations with three unknowns and pool problems from primary school onwards is of little use when it comes to coping with disappointments, fears, anger, etc. and living a happy life at work and in our private lives… Because it is mainly emotional intelligence, not academic intelligence, that guides our behavior and determines the quality of the relationships we establish.
