Problem Solving Techniques – Houston We Have A Problem

July 18, 2024

Objective: To equip the personnel working at different levels in various functions of the company with the necessary equipment to enable them to make more accurate and faster decisions by finding applicable and permanent solutions to the problems they face in their daily working life. The aim is not only to teach participants systematic approaches and techniques for problem solving and decision making processes, but also to adopt this approach throughout the organization and to give it to employees as a perspective.

“Houston We Have Problem” is a dynamic and exciting exercise to promote team spirit and demonstrate the benefits of cooperation on the road to success and the power of teamwork when faced with problems.

Teams of astronauts stationed at different epicenters on the Moon are engaged in a highly demanding and challenging space operation. In order to build teamwork and a framework for collective action, the Houston epicenter decides to raise the bar a little higher.
Our astronaut team in space carries out routine operations and logistics tasks. The Houston epicenter expects the astronauts to fulfill all the tasks required of them before returning to Earth. However, limited oxygen and water resources challenge the teams and all the conditions, forcing all teams to work together for ultimate success, making the goal possible.
The main areas of work we are targeting in this exercise:
  • Recognizing and applying the states of need for help and the stages of needing help
  • Ability to articulate problems clearly and the principle of clarity in objectives
  • Continuity in developing problem solving strategies
  • Developing skills to stay in contact with everyone in the process, to inform and to listen carefully
  • Expressing oneself freely
  • Awareness of how to stay calm under pressure and crisis management skills.
